GLASS BOTTOM POOL USING MULTI-LAYERED SAFETY LAMINATED CLEAR GLASS STRUCTURALLY GLAZED ON STAINLESS STEEL

Marvel Glass has always been at the forefront of providing breakthrough innovative solutions using Glass Architecture and fine engineering. Marvel Glass undertook a complex and challenging project before 20 years, at a time when glass technology for architectural use was still in nascent stage in the Indian market, clearly elaborating on the expertise of Marvel Glass. The project required a Pool bottom made of Glass. If someone standing in the 5-star hotel lobby of marine plaza looks up at the main atrium, they can see the pool with swimmers, while natural external light shimmers through the water and the pool into the lobby 15 floors below.

The project involved the use of multi-layered safety laminated clear glass structurally glazed on stainless steel 304 grade. There were some stringent challenges involved in achieving this marvel structure with the use of glass. As one can understand, the upper glass surface that remains immersed in water is exposed to external weather/heat, and the lower glass surface facing inside is exposed to constant air conditioning which can be a problem for the sustainability of the glass. Also, there is a strict need to avoid water leakage in any condition.

Termed as a human aquarium, the application is unique and breathtaking, and indeed a feather in Marvel cap, from amongst the projects done.
